Credit Recovery – Semester 1: Review scientific methods and revisit matter, energy, and Earth’s structure.
Semester 1 of 2 – Credit Recovery Course: This course begins with a review of proper scientific methods and how they are used in scientific investigations. Students will see how these methods are applied in several scientific disciplines. They also learn how these methods are used in designing technology. Students will apply these scientific methods as they explore the structure of matter. They will examine the phases of matter and how they change from one to another. The course goes on to cover the classifications of matter and how they change from elements to compounds or mixtures. Students then explore how energy affects matter. The course shifts to a discussion of geology, in which students learn about the structure of Earth and how it has changed over its history. They will then learn about Earth’s place in the universe. The course shifts again to exploring living things, beginning with the basic unit of life, the cell. Students examine how organisms carry out functions of life and how that affects other organisms in the ecosystem. Students then explore how the cells come together to make organs and organ systems and how diseases and conditions affect those systems. Finally, students compare weather and climate. They will examine how violent storms form and how Earth’s climate is currently changing.

EdisonLearnNow (ELN) offers self-paced, high-quality online courses for students looking to supplement their education. Whether you’re taking a course for credit recovery, acceleration, or enrichment, our flexible options help meet your needs.
All ELN courses are self-paced.
Students may take as long as needed to complete a course. If needed, we can align the course with a specific school schedule and adjust dates as the student progresses.
No prerequisites are required for any ELN course.

The process is simple:
All courses are asynchronous, meaning students may work independently with all-inclusive, self-contained courses. Our curriculum includes multiple learning tools to engage every kind of learner, including videos, visuals, and plenty of practice – especially in math courses! Our goal is to provide learning opportunities that meet the needs of students in any situation, meaning flexibility is core to what we do.
If your student would like to meet live with their teacher, they can always request a Personalized Live Session (PLI). PLIs give the student a chance to ask specific questions in a one-on-one format. We also have office hours for each subject daily, where a student may jump into a Zoom room with one of our full-time teachers.
Yes! Coordinating with your district is helpful for us; however, it is not required. We recommend that you reach out to your district prior to enrollment.
Some school districts already use EdisonLearning courses. If you’re currently enrolled in a district that uses Edison courses, contact your school’s advisory team to complete enrollment.
Every school has different policies regarding transfer credits. We recommend speaking with your school counselor to confirm before enrolling.
