When you get up in the morning, flip a switch, and see a light turn on, you might want to thank one of the people responsible: electrical engineers. The main function of an engineer is solving problems. Electrical engineers solve problems by using electricity and solve problems related to using electricity. They develop devices to generate and transmit electricity and design products that use electricity. In this course, you will learn the basics of circuit design and the laws and theorems involved in analyzing circuits. You will also learn how mechanical energy is converted to electrical energy in generators and power plants. Finally, you will see that the reverse can be true: Electrical energy can be converted to mechanical energy through electric motors.

EdisonLearnNow (ELN) offers self-paced, high-quality online courses for students looking to supplement their education. Whether you’re taking a course for credit recovery, acceleration, or enrichment, our flexible options help meet your needs.
All ELN courses are self-paced.
Students may take as long as needed to complete a course. If needed, we can align the course with a specific school schedule and adjust dates as the student progresses.
No prerequisites are required for any ELN course.
Yes! If you’d like a syllabus for a specific course, let us know, and we’ll be happy to provide it.
The process is simple:
All courses are asynchronous, meaning students may work independently with all-inclusive, self-contained courses. Our curriculum includes multiple learning tools to engage every kind of learner, including videos, visuals, and plenty of practice – especially in math courses! Our goal is to provide learning opportunities that meet the needs of students in any situation, meaning flexibility is core to what we do.
If your student would like to meet live with their teacher, they can always request a Personalized Live Session (PLI). PLIs give the student a chance to ask specific questions in a one-on-one format. We also have office hours for each subject daily, where a student may jump into a Zoom room with one of our full-time teachers.
Yes! Coordinating with your district is helpful for us; however, it is not required. We recommend that you reach out to your district prior to enrollment.
Some school districts already use EdisonLearning courses. If you’re currently enrolled in a district that uses Edison courses, contact your school’s advisory team to complete enrollment.
Every school has different policies regarding transfer credits. We recommend speaking with your school counselor to confirm before enrolling.
