Semester 2: Strengthen research and writing skills through guided projects and process-based learning.
Semester 2 of 2 – This course focuses on the writing and research process. Throughout the course, students learn about components of writing, such as how to research; how to complete the steps of the writing process; and how to apply rules regarding punctuation, sentence structure, grammar, and elements of style. They also study elements of discussion. Additionally, the course offers students multiple opportunities to put these skills into practice by completing research-based projects. By the end of the course, students should be able to successfully apply research-based skills in a multitude of situations.
A parent portal is available to provide visibility into student grades, academic progress, and communications. Parents may also message teachers and the student’s advisor directly through the platform.
Includes a built-in study planner that schedules coursework based on the selected end date, with the ability to adjust and regenerate the plan at any time.
Direct access to a learning coach, with ongoing weekly progress monitoring and proactive outreach.
You can customize your learning experience to fit how you work best, whether you’re reading, writing, or studying. Built-in accessibility tools within the TextHelp toolbar support this flexibility, offering features such as text-to-speech, word prediction, and highlighting to assist with comprehension and content creation. These capabilities support a wide range of learning preferences, including students with unique needs, while remaining useful for all learners.

EdisonLearnNow (ELN) offers self-paced, high-quality online courses for students looking to supplement their education. Whether you’re taking a course for credit recovery, acceleration, or enrichment, our flexible options help meet your needs.
All ELN courses are self-paced.
Students may take as long as needed to complete a course. If needed, we can align the course with a specific school schedule and adjust dates as the student progresses.
No prerequisites are required for any ELN course.

The process is simple:
All courses are asynchronous, meaning students may work independently with all-inclusive, self-contained courses. Our curriculum includes multiple learning tools to engage every kind of learner, including videos, visuals, and plenty of practice – especially in math courses! Our goal is to provide learning opportunities that meet the needs of students in any situation, meaning flexibility is core to what we do.
If your student would like to meet live with their teacher, they can always request a Personalized Live Session (PLI). PLIs give the student a chance to ask specific questions in a one-on-one format. We also have office hours for each subject daily, where a student may jump into a Zoom room with one of our full-time teachers.
Yes! Coordinating with your district is helpful for us; however, it is not required. We recommend that you reach out to your district prior to enrollment.
Some school districts already use EdisonLearning courses. If you’re currently enrolled in a district that uses Edison courses, contact your school’s advisory team to complete enrollment.
Every school has different policies regarding transfer credits. We recommend speaking with your school counselor to confirm before enrolling.
