Semester 2: Explore exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions through statistics and probability.
Semester 2 of 2 – In Algebra 2, students discover how the skills they learned in Algebra 1 further apply to a variety of topics. Students begin the course with a review of linear equations and inequalities in one and two variables. They apply their knowledge of systems of equations to work with more advanced systems of three equations. A deeper dive into polynomials and quadratics involves factoring, performing operations, complex solutions, and comparing and contrasting graphs. Students explore additional characteristics and types of functions including inverse, exponential, logarithmic, root, and rational functions. After students apply their knowledge of functions to sequences and series, they are introduced to trigonometric topics including the unit circle, laws of sines and cosines, graphs of periodic functions, and methods of solving trigonometric equations. Statistics and probability are covered as students solve problems involving mutually exclusive and inclusive events, fit functions to data, study sampling techniques, and recognize normally distributed data.

Students may take as long as needed to complete a course. If needed, we can align the course with a specific school schedule and adjust dates as the student progresses.
No prerequisites are required for any ELN course.

The process is simple:
All courses are asynchronous, meaning students may work independently with all-inclusive, self-contained courses. Our curriculum includes multiple learning tools to engage every kind of learner, including videos, visuals, and plenty of practice – especially in math courses! Our goal is to provide learning opportunities that meet the needs of students in any situation, meaning flexibility is core to what we do.
If your student would like to meet live with their teacher, they can always request a Personalized Live Session (PLI). PLIs give the student a chance to ask specific questions in a one-on-one format. We also have office hours for each subject daily, where a student may jump into a Zoom room with one of our full-time teachers.
Yes! Coordinating with your district is helpful for us; however, it is not required. We recommend that you reach out to your district prior to enrollment.
Some school districts already use EdisonLearning courses. If you’re currently enrolled in a district that uses Edison courses, contact your school’s advisory team to complete enrollment.
Every school has different policies regarding transfer credits. We recommend speaking with your school counselor to confirm before enrolling.
