Semester 2 of 2 – Students will take a deeper dive into algebraic, trigonometric, and statistical topics in Algebra 2 [Honors]. This course requires students to apply their knowledge from Algebra 1 to topics normally outside the Algebra 2 scope and sequence. Students apply systems of equations to matrices and their inverses. Quadratic functions are expanded to include geometric applications and quadratic inequalities. A study of polynomials leads to work with rational and piecewise functions, their graphs, and their characteristics. Students explore the relationship between more complex exponential and logarithmic functions and their applications. Students learn trigonometric concepts essential for future mathematics courses. The course ends with a study of probability and statistics applications.
