Semester 2 of 2 – Credit Recovery Course: In this course, students will consider important questions related to US history, including “What makes a person an American?” and “How have people from different cultures been able to come together to help the United States grow and thrive as a nation?” Students join the American story during the Reconstruction Era, when the nation began to rebuild in the wake of the Civil War. They will progress into the twentieth century, assessing the ways that citizens of the United States were able to come together to survive the Great Depression, World Wars I and II, and the racial and cultural divides which threatened to tear the nation apart in the 1960s. By investigating the people and events that have held the United States together during difficult times, students will be able to more clearly answer the big questions facing the nation today.

What is the pacing like?

All ELN courses are self-paced.

Students may take as long as needed to complete a course. If needed, we can align the course with a specific school schedule and adjust dates as the student progresses.

No prerequisites are required for any ELN course.

Yes! If you’d like a syllabus for a specific course, let us know, and we’ll be happy to provide it. 

How do I register for a course?

The process is simple:

  1. Purchase the course – Use this link to select and buy the course: https://edisonlearnow.com/collections/all
  2. Complete the student application – After checkout, follow the link provided to fill out the application.
  3. We enroll the student – Once we receive the application, we will complete the enrollment, and the student can start learning!
How is the course delivered? Is it taught live at scheduled times by an instructor, or is it a flexible, self-paced video course?

All courses are asynchronous, meaning students may work independently with all-inclusive, self-contained courses. Our curriculum includes multiple learning tools to engage every kind of learner, including videos, visuals, and plenty of practice – especially in math courses! Our goal is to provide learning opportunities that meet the needs of students in any situation, meaning flexibility is core to what we do.

If your student would like to meet live with their teacher, they can always request a Personalized Live Session (PLI). PLIs give the student a chance to ask specific questions in a one-on-one format. We also have office hours for each subject daily, where a student may jump into a Zoom room with one of our full-time teachers.

Can I take an ELN course while enrolled in my school district?

Yes! Coordinating with your district is helpful for us; however, it is not required. We recommend that you reach out to your district prior to enrollment.

Some school districts already use EdisonLearning courses. If you’re currently enrolled in a district that uses Edison courses, contact your school’s advisory team to complete enrollment.

Every school has different policies regarding transfer credits. We recommend speaking with your school counselor to confirm before enrolling.

At this time, we do not offer discounts or payment plans. We structure our courses as a one-time purchase that allows the student to work at their own pace, without ongoing fees or monthly charges.
