In this course, students practice essential skills similar to those explored in Algebra 1. This work will help prepare students for the Keystone Exam. Part 1 of Keystone Algebra 1 focuses on operations and linear equations and inequalities. Throughout the part, students perform operations with real numbers, practice manipulating the structure of expressions through factoring, and focus on solving linear equations and inequalities in one and two variables, including systems of equations and inequalities. Part 2 focuses on linear functions and data displays. Throughout this part, students identify functions, use function notation, perform the vertical-line test, and graph a variety of linear functions and inequalities. Students practice working with data as they create and interpret scatter plots, choose the best display for a set of data, and make predictions based on displayed data.
