Semester 2 of 2 – In this course, students learn fundamental concepts that prepare them for Algebra 1 and future mathematics courses. The course begins with a study of the properties of exponents, rational and irrational numbers, and radical expressions. Students explore the difference between relations and functions, what it means to be a linear function, and how functions can behave differently. A study of geometric concepts includes a focus on angle relationships, triangle properties, and transformations on the coordinate plane. Students strengthen their statistical and probability knowledge as they analyze scatter plots and correlation, construct two-way tables, and learn the difference between probability and odds.
