Credit Recovery – Semester 2: Reinforce key events from imperialism through World War II and the Cold War.
Semester 2 of 2 – Credit Recovery Course: World History explores events and people of the past, from the fourteenth-century CE to the present day. Starting with Mesoamerican civilizations before the arrival of Europeans, the course will highlight cultural, economic, political, social, and intellectual revolutions and transformations. The course progresses from the Renaissance and the Reformation to the Age of Exploration and Enlightenment era revolutions. It then moves on to the Industrial Revolution and the rise of imperialism and nationalism. The closing topics emphasize global conflicts and diplomacy, as seen in World War 1, World War 2, and the Cold War. Each course part scaffolds students’ skills for historical inquiry and focuses on disciplinary tools and concepts rooted in geography, civics, history, and economics. These focal areas align students’ learning with the National Council for Social Studies’ “College, Career, and Civic Life (C3) Framework.” Upon completion of the course, students will possess the core knowledge they need to analyze historical changes and their importance.

All ELN courses are self-paced.
Students may take as long as needed to complete a course. If needed, we can align the course with a specific school schedule and adjust dates as the student progresses.
No prerequisites are required for any ELN course.

The process is simple:
All courses are asynchronous, meaning students may work independently with all-inclusive, self-contained courses. Our curriculum includes multiple learning tools to engage every kind of learner, including videos, visuals, and plenty of practice – especially in math courses! Our goal is to provide learning opportunities that meet the needs of students in any situation, meaning flexibility is core to what we do.
If your student would like to meet live with their teacher, they can always request a Personalized Live Session (PLI). PLIs give the student a chance to ask specific questions in a one-on-one format. We also have office hours for each subject daily, where a student may jump into a Zoom room with one of our full-time teachers.
Yes! Coordinating with your district is helpful for us; however, it is not required. We recommend that you reach out to your district prior to enrollment.
Some school districts already use EdisonLearning courses. If you’re currently enrolled in a district that uses Edison courses, contact your school’s advisory team to complete enrollment.
Every school has different policies regarding transfer credits. We recommend speaking with your school counselor to confirm before enrolling.
